Working together
Terms and Conditions
These are the terms on which Ultimate Health provides its services. Trading as Ultimate Health, 20 Sillwood Road, Brighton, BN1 2LF. By booking a call, a programme or a test you accept them. They are separate from the consent form, which is optional and stays your choice.
What we do, and what we do not
We provide nutritional therapy and functional medicine support: reading your history and your test results, and writing you a plan built on food, lifestyle and, where appropriate, supplements. We work alongside your doctor, never instead of them.
We do not diagnose, and we do not treat disease. We do not prescribe medicines, and we will never tell you to stop or change a prescribed medication. Only the doctor who prescribed it can do that. If something you tell us needs medical attention, we will say so and we will write to your GP or ask you to go to A&E, and we will put that in writing.
What we ask of you
- Tell us everything relevant, including all medications, supplements and diagnoses. A plan built on incomplete information can be the wrong plan.
- Tell your doctor what you are doing with us, particularly any supplement, if you are on medication or under specialist care. We also cross check for you and your GP, because our programmes are safe and monitored.
- Tell us if anything changes, especially a new medication, a pregnancy, or a new diagnosis.
- Stop and contact us if anything we suggest makes you feel worse.
Results
We cannot promise an outcome, and nobody honest can. Bodies differ, and how much changes depends in large part on what you are able to put into practice. What we do promise is that every recommendation is reasoned, sourced, explained to you, and backed by clinical application that has worked well before.
Tests
Tests are ordered from independent practitioner grade laboratories and paid for at the point of order. Prices are confirmed at the point of order and can change if the laboratory changes theirs. Once a kit has been dispatched or a sample processed, the test cannot be refunded.
Every test we sell includes a written interpretation. A test result on its own is not advice, and we do not sell tests without reading them for you.
Supplements
We recommend products but we are not the manufacturer or the retailer. Buy from the source we name, because quality varies. Check the label against any allergy you have. If you react to something, stop and tell us.
Booking, paying, and moving an appointment
Payment is taken at the point of booking. Programmes paid monthly run for their stated minimum term.
Moving an appointment: give us 24 hours' notice and we will move it, as often as you need. Less than that, or a missed appointment, is charged in full, because the time was held for you and cannot be filled. If something serious happens, tell us, and we will use common sense.
Programme time is yours to use within the term. Unused calls do not roll over past the end of it, and are not refundable, because the time was reserved for you.
Cancelling
Before anything has been delivered, you can cancel and be refunded in full. Once a session has happened, a plan has been written, or a test kit has been dispatched, that part has been delivered and is not refundable. For a monthly programme, tell us before the next payment date and it will not be taken, subject to the minimum term.
We can end our work together if what you need falls outside what nutritional therapy can safely offer, if you need medical care instead, or if the working relationship is not working. We will refund anything paid for and not yet delivered, and we will tell you plainly why.
Your documents
The plans, reports and handouts we write are yours to keep and to share with your doctor. They remain our copyright, so please do not publish or resell them. Each one is written for you, and it is not safe to pass on as advice to someone else.
Messages between sessions
Programmes that include messaging are for short questions between sessions, answered within 48 hours on working days. Messaging is not for anything urgent. If something is urgent, contact your GP, call 111, or in an emergency call 999.
Confidentiality
What you tell us is confidential. How your information is held and used is set out in our privacy notice, and the optional choices are on the consent form. We would only break confidentiality if we believed someone's life was at risk, or if the law required it.
Complaints
Tell us, and we will try to put it right. Tania is registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council and is a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine, and you can raise a concern with either.
The legal bits
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise our liability is limited to the total fees you have paid us [for the solicitor and your insurer to confirm]. We are not liable for a loss that was not foreseeable, or for a decision you take against our written advice.
Ultimate Health holds professional indemnity insurance. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If we change these terms, the version that applies to you is the one you accepted when you booked.
In one line. We will be careful, honest and thorough, we will tell you when something is outside our scope, and we will never ask you to change a medication. In return, tell us everything, keep your doctor informed, and tell us early if something does not feel right.
